FL Lake County Sheriff's Office 100th Anniversary 1887-1987

FL Lake County Sheriff's Office 100th Anniversary 1887-1987, SP. This patch measures 4 1/2"H X 3 1/2"W and is done on sheriff’s dark green twill. Patch has gold lettering and border. Patch shows a sheriff’s 5 point gold star in the center with an eagle with its wings spread and perched on the top point of the star. Behind the star is the Florida state flag on the left and the United Stated flag on the right and red streamers with 1887 on the left and 1987 on the right. On the top is a white banner with the words "Lake County" on it and on the bottom a blue banner with the words "Sheriff's Office" and "100" in the middle. Finally on the very bottom is the word "Florida". This patch was worn on the uniforms in 1987 to celebrate the centennial of this office. This patch was beautifully done, however, grammatically incorrect. The American flag should have been on the left side and the Florida flag on the right. Today, this department has 264 members and is headquartered in Tavares.
